Fort Worth, Texas -
Fort Worth-based general contractor Thos. S. Byrne, Ltd. has been named as the recipient of the Associated Builders and Contractors National Excellence in Construction Award for the JPS Health Center for Women. Byrne was also named as the recipient of a Merit Award for 2004 National Safety Excellence. Awards will be presented on February 21 at the Associated Builders and Contractors National Convention in Orlando, Florida.

Prior to the national competition, the North Texas chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors recognized local projects. The EIC Award Program is a prestigious recognition program that publicly recognizes the top merit commercial construction projects in the country, and also honors all of the members of the construction team, including the contractor, owner and the design team. This year's competition was open to all construction projects completed during the past year by ABC member firms. The winning projects were selected from entries submitted and were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.
